Today in Literacy class we learnt facts about our author,each reading group has an author individually my group and I author was?  Margaret Mahy, she is a New Zealander author, she creates Kids books,and young adult books, which is really cool, take a look at my presentation to know more information.

We are learning to use place value to solve multiplication problems using whole numbers.

25 x 8 = 200

20 x 8 = 160

5 x 8 = 40

25 x 15 = 375

20 x 15 = 300

5 x 15 = 85

  

  Show your working under each problem:

1.  Mrs Ilaoa orders 5 boxes of bats. If each box contains 7 bats, how many bats are there altogether? 7x5=35

2. She then orders 23 boxes of cones. If each box contains 8 cones, how many cones are there altogether? 8x23=184

3.Mrs Tele’a orders pencils for team 5. She orders 25 boxes of 12 pencils. How many pencils are there altogether? 12x25=300 

4. Chance has brought some lollies in to share with the class for her birthday. She has brought 14 packets which contain 12 lollies each. How many lollies are there altogether? 12x14=168

5. Team 5 are working out how much money they can make from their fundraising at the garage sale.

If they sell 27 plates of food for $12 each, how much money will they make? 12x27=204

If they sell 45 cakes for $15 each, how much money will they make? 15x45=675

6. Room 4 is 12m long and 11m wide. What is the area of the room? 12m x 11m = 132m all together

 INTRO - GREETING YOU ALL

Malo e lelei - Talofa Lava and greetings to you!  My name is Sauma, I am a year 8 student, I am very Passionate about coming back to attend more leaning towards school, My home class teacher is Mrs Stone, I am at the age of 11 (Turning 12).

INFO 1 - WHERE I WAS RAISED

I was born and raised here in Auckland in a little area called Glen Innes, aswell known as GI, I have been in GI ever science I was born, I was born at Auckland Hospital, raised by two lovely parents.

INFO 2 - WHO IS MY FAMILY

I come from a big family of 7, where I am the second oldest sister, and the second oldest grandchild, and have a younger sister, and two younger brothers, I have a Mum which comes from (Tonga), and a Dad from (Samoa), a few of my parents family live in australia , Samoa, North America, and Tonga, my older sister attends Auckland Girls Grammar school, and my cousins and siblings attend Pt england school.

INFO 3 WHAT I ACCOMPLISHED IN MY LIFE

Last year 2020 was a rough year, I was lucky enough to become a Prefect, it was one my goals for 2020, now that I am one of the Prefect, I would be showing support to others, more attendances towards school, and more focusing on learning.

INFO 4 - WHAT I ENJOY DOING

What I enjoy doing is participating in many activities, Maths,Writing and reading, I also like to do confident speaking, Netball,Touch and Baking, I also like enjoying my day with my best friends Nina,Norah-Jade,Madie,Deborah,Simon, and Tahliyah, also my amazing Family!

CONCLUSION - 

This year I am looking forward to knowing many of the NEW! (Year 7) and helping them during this year, also what Pt england have to offer.

Marshmallow Challenge!

 This Morning Room 4 tried a Marshmallow challenge! 

It was a great experience, which we were split into six groups, my members of the group are, Madie,Cherish,Finau, and Norah-jade, we had a great communication towards each other, and we work as a team, we shared ideas,

through-out the challenge we were a bit struggling, we had to use a lot of tape, and a few of the sticks we very fragile, we all got given one Marshmallow per a group, our hands were  all over the tower, 

What should I do next time?  Have a plan, slow-down, more focusing, and much more communication.

This year I am lucky enough to be a prefect.

I am also lucky enough to have 5 amazing-

My culture is Samoan,and Tongan

I am lucky again to come from a family of seven, which I am the second oldest, with two sisters,two younger brothers and an amazing Mum- (Tongan) and Dad-(Samoan)

What I enjoy most in my life is, keeping motivated,Studying,Maths,Reading,Writing, Confident-Speaking, Netball, Tag, and Baking,
