Your sister gives you $125 to spend on lollies. If you spend $65 how much money would you have left over? 125-65=60



Zaeeda has bought her sister a new puppy. She has $500 in her bank account as she heads to the shops.




She first buys a dog bed for $60. How much money does she have left? Firstly I did 500-60=440




She then buys a bowl for $25. How much does she have left? 440-25=415,another way by doing is 40-25=15,then you just add the 4 hundred.




Then she buys 3 chew toys. Each toy costs $3.50. How much does she have left? Firstly I add the chewy Toys and then my answer for that is 10.50c, then I move on to do 415-10.50c=404.5




Finally she buys a diamond collar for the dog which costs $154.50. How much is left in her account at the end of the day? First I do 404-154.5=249.5, for an example I did 4-4=0,now nothing, then I move on to do 50,the five is from the 54,and the 0 is from 4-4=0,so that I made was 50,then I did 50-1=49,249.5




Kalani’s python has become ill and needs to go to the vets. He has $100 in his wallet.

The cost of the vet visit is $65.50. How much money is left in Kalani’s wallet? Firstly I did 65.50-100=34.5




AJ is also at the vet with his rabbit. His rabbit has had expensive surgery. If AJ has 10.25 left in his bank account and he started with $525.80, how much did the surgery cost? First I did 25-10.25= 14.75.




Zyla’s puppy is growing every month. He used to weigh 5.67 kg but he now weighs 6.34kg. How much weight has he put on? Firstly I notiest, that he just went 1kg,then I do 67-34=33,then that means he just went 1.33kg.

(Working Out) Firstly I do 125-65= 65+5=70 70+30=100+25=125. and my answer is 60


She then gives you $234 more. How much money do you have now? 60+234=294








Pt England school are buying new sports gear. There is $500 in the sports budget.


They first purchase a basketball hoop for $50 How much money does he have left? Firstly I do 500-50=450,


So far I have 450,They then buy a net for $25. How much do they have left? First I do 50-25=25,then I add in the hundred and that is 425 left


Then they buy three tennis balls. Each ball costs $3. How much do they have left?After I do 450-3=447,then that is the answer.


Finally they buy a netball hoop which costs $100. How much is left in the budget at the end? First I do 447-100=


For an easy way you can take out the hundred from the 447,then that makes a total of 347,because it just takes one hundred away.





Troy has $100 in his wallet. He spends $65.50 on a new PS4 game. How much money does he have left? Firstly I do 100-65.50=34.5.





Kahurangi wins some money and goes on a shopping spree.If he has 10.80 left in his bank account and he started with $525.80, how much did he spend? Firstly I do 525.80-10.80=515





Zyla’s puppy is growing every month. He used to weigh 5.6 kg but he now weighs 6.3. How much weight has he put on? First I do 5.6+6.3=11.9.so what I mean is they just add one weight in and then I just take away one 3.

Adorable Addition 1

1. In order to start constructing the house, AJ needs to get some wood from bunnings. His mum buys 45 planks of wood and his dad buys 132 planks of wood. How many do they have together? (Working Out) So I left 100$ then I did, 40+30=70,and the 40 comes from 45,then 30,comes from 132, then I move on to 5+2=7. So that is a total of (177)






2. While building the house, AJ noticed that they were running out of nails so he went to buy some. They have 9 nails left at home. AJ buys a pack of 145 nails and a pack of 50 nails. How many nails do they have now?


(Working Out) Firstly I left 100$ then I did 9+5=14, 9 comes from Home,and 5 comes from 145, then I did 50+40=90, after that I did 90+14=104,then I did 104+100=204,So that is a total of (204)






3. To have a more stable treehouse, Jacob decided to tie the corner posts of the house to the tree itself. He used 24 cm of rope for the first pos, 20cm on the second, 14cm on the third and 12cm on the fourth. How much rope was used? (Working Out) 20+20=40,and 20 comes from 24,and 20 comes from 20, then I did 4cm+4cm+2cm=10,then I did 10+10=20,Secondly I add up all the Answers 40cm+10cm+20cm=70,Ropes





4. The treehouse is almost done; all they need is to paint it. Paschal estimated that they will use 37L of white paint, 15L of green paint and 34L of brown paint. How many litres of paint would they buy in total?(WorkingOut) 30L+10L+30L=70L, 30L comes from 37L, then 10L comes from 15L, 30L comes from 34L, After that I did 7L+5L+4L=16L, Then I add up all the Answers 16L+70L= 86$










5. After finishing the treehouse, AJs’ family made cookies for his friends to thank them for helping. If AJ ate 15 cookies, Jacob ate 10, Paschal ate 6 and Tisa only ate 5, how many cookies were eaten in total? (Working Out) 10+10=20, 10 comes from 15,and then 10 comes from 10, After that 5+6+5=16, Then I add up all the Answers 16+20=36

So First you leave the hundreds, Then I did 40+30=70, after that I did 5+5=10,Then I add up all the Answers 70+10+80,Then I add in the 100’s , so then I did 100+100=200,then I add 80, so that is 280







134 + 127 =


So Firstly I Left the hundreds, then I did 20+30=50,Then I did 4+7=11, then I add up all the Answers, 50+11=61, Then I add up all the hundreds, 100+100=200, then I add up 61, so that is 261










1445 + 1564 = 3009


Firstly I Left the 1000, Then I work on 400+500=900, after that I did 45+64=109, then I add up all the Answer, 900+109=1009, then I add up 2000+1009=3009








1235 + 5643 =6878



First I Left the thoundes,then I worked on,the hundreds, 200+600=800, then I did 35+43=77,after that I add up all the Answers,800+77=877, then I add up the thoundes,1000+5000=6000,add up 877
